Birthday Photos

This is Sam and me on my birthday eve. We went out with Sean's dad and all enjoyed a great laugh or two.
This is the yummy Texas sheet cake that I made (with buttermilk) to share with my family and friends. We also made two key lime pies that were delicious but I don't know why we didn't take a picture of them...maybe next time. The cake almost started on fire because of all of the candles that were lit.
The last picture is of the beautiful flowers that my parents sent me. Thanks, I LOVED them. xoxo
It was a great "birthday week". Thanks for all who came, called, emailed and remembered.I love you!

Blogger Remorse

Where do I begin to even touch the regret I feel from not blogging for so long. One month has gone by(where did it go?) Since then I have a lot to catch up on; Utah in June for Josh and Maria's wedding(previous post), Costa Rica with the family, Santa Cruz, twice, because we could... and the kids already went back to school yesterday. It was quite a disappointment because I LOVE having them home. No stress, no HOMEWORK, late night T.V., good talks, Swimming all day and relaxing all the time. It is a bummer that it went so quickly.
2008 was a summer to remember, one of the greatest, that is for sure. Did I mention that I turned 40??? The big 4- 0!!! All I have done over the last week is eat!!! Thanks to all who sent me flowers and chocolate and showered me with gifts...it ALMOST made it worth it. The photos are coming.

Sam went to camp

Sam got to go to his first REAL boy scout camp! He is with his brother which makes me feel a little bit less nervous. I talked to him tonight and he sounded great. I love that boy.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all of you!  I loved this day!
Georgia started off my mother's day by coming into our room at 7:00a.m. and saying "Happy Mother's Day" and then quickly falling back to sleep...She was sad that she didn't have time to make me breakfast in bed, sorry, early church today. Sean and the kiddos made yummy tri-tip, on the BBQ as well as delicious veggies. We had a walnut/blue cheese salad and roasted sweet potatoes. I AM FULL!!! I didn't do much today except make a strawberry pie for dessert...yes, I will make Sean have a piece.
I hope everyone had a good day. I love being a mother, it is the BEST job ever. It does provide many challenges but the rewards out way the trials anyday!
p.s. XOXOXO, Mom I love you. Thanks for all you've done for me.

Too bad the fun had to end!

I guess I should have blogged from the morning to the evening. I am making you all take a trip backwards, at least that's how it looks to me. But, It is my blog so I have that entitlement. It was such a fun wedding.

Cool boys.

Sean took this picture. I love it because you can see that something fun is going on inside.

Patrick got "a LIFE"

Happy Birthday Patrick!

Today Patrick is a teenager. YIKES! I am not worried because Patrick is a wonderful son, a great student and a super big brother. He is one of my favorite people on the planet because he makes me laugh and shares the same strange humor that I do. He is one funny individual. So here's to you Puff...I love you and have a fantastic 13th year.

Angels

O.K. , two blogs in one day...amazing for me, but, I have to make a comment about American Idol and that David Archuleta actually sang one of Sean's favorite songs of all time, Robbie Williams "Angels". He sings it ALL the time around the house and the kids even know it by heart. Sean has never been a huge fan of the show but it seems that he has found his favorite performer and has even called in a few votes.

April 8th

Today is Tuesday. Everyone just left for school. Life is good.
Some thoughts about last weekend: Sam is rockin' smart and placed 6th out of 49 teams in the science bowl. There were hard questions about everything from name your scientist to rock formations and ... I AM NOT SMARTER THAN A FIFTH GRADER! I sat and judged that event and got maybe half of the answers right while Sam scored 29 out of 30. He did well and came home happy with his medal wrapped around his neck. We got home at 4:45 and then Patrick and Sean headed out for Conference. Conference was great. Sean has been three for three now with the calls of the new Presidency and Apostles. He thought that Uncle Todd would be called as the new Apostle and he told me this before we went to bed on Friday night. Crazy!!! He was right again and we are all excited for Uncle Todd. Loved watching it together with the kids (for the most part, they were pretty good)
Didn't get to plant my garden yet...that will be this Saturday when it hits 82 degrees. Can't wait for tomatoes.
